UAE Evacuates 210 Patients and Families from Gaza in Collaboration with WHO

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, the UAE undertook its 22nd humanitarian mission, evacuating 210 critically ill patients and their family members from Gaza in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). This initiative reflects the UAE’s unwavering commitment to providing life-saving assistance to those affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The evacuation included 86 patients in critical condition, among them children and cancer patients in urgent need of specialized medical care. They were safely transported from Gaza via Israel’s Ramon Airport and through the Kerem Shalom crossing, ensuring that they will receive comprehensive medical treatment in UAE hospitals. These patients were accompanied by 124 family members, ensuring they remain supported during their treatment journey.

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations and member of the International Humanitarian Affairs Council, emphasized the significance of this mission. “This operation is part of the ongoing collaboration between the UAE and WHO and demonstrates the UAE’s firm commitment to supporting our Palestinian brothers and sisters as they face the devastating conditions in Gaza,” Al Shamsi said.

The UAE’s efforts to support Gaza through medical evacuations are a testament to the country’s dedication to humanitarian aid and its role as a global leader in providing relief to those in need. Since the beginning of the crisis, the UAE has worked tirelessly to extend aid to the people of Gaza, offering both immediate assistance and long-term support in the form of medical care, supplies, and logistical aid.

This recent mission underscores the UAE’s deep commitment to the Palestinian people, particularly in light of the ongoing challenges in Gaza. As part of its broader humanitarian vision, the UAE remains steadfast in its support, ensuring that those in desperate need of medical attention are provided the care and compassion they deserve.

The UAE’s partnership with international organizations like WHO enables swift, coordinated action, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most. As the situation in Gaza continues to evolve, the UAE stands ready to offer further support, providing hope and relief to the most vulnerable.

Through these efforts, the UAE not only demonstrates its compassion but also its commitment to global solidarity, reinforcing its reputation as a nation dedicated to humanitarian principles and international cooperation.
