Microsoft and G42 Forge Alliance to Propel AI and Cloud Innovation in Abu Dhabi

 



Abu Dhabi, a hub of innovation and technological progress, is set to witness a significant stride in its AI and cloud capabilities with the formidable collaboration of Microsoft and G42. This partnership, founded on a shared vision of fostering innovation, promises to reshape the technological landscape of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and beyond.

Microsoft, a global tech giant renowned for its Azure cloud platform and artificial intelligence expertise, is teaming up with G42, led by National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan. G42 has been at the forefront of Abu Dhabi's ambitious journey into artificial intelligence, with notable projects like AIQ in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) making waves in the industry.

The core objective of this collaboration is to harness the power of AI and cloud technology to drive advancements across various sectors. One of the key highlights is the democratization of Azure's cloud and AI capabilities, ensuring that the public sector and various industries in the UAE can leverage these technologies for innovation while adhering to stringent privacy and regulatory standards.

Bing Xiao, CEO of G42, expressed his optimism about the collaboration, stating that it will enable G42 to make meaningful technological advancements across core sectors. G42's diverse portfolio, which spans from cloud computing to autonomous vehicles, reflects their commitment to pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve.

Notably, G42's recent partnership with Cerebras Systems Inc. resulted in the development of the world's first nine AI-powered supercomputers, marking a significant leap in the realm of AI hardware. Furthermore, their groundbreaking work on the "world's highest-quality large-scale Arabic language model" showcases their dedication to advancing AI capabilities.

As part of their joint efforts, Microsoft and G42 are gearing up to provide industry-specific AI solutions for prominent projects, including the COP28 climate summit scheduled to take place in Dubai later this year. Additionally, Microsoft will expand its Azure services within the UAE through the "Data Centers Vault," a collaborative venture between G42 and Etisalat.

Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President of Microsoft's Commercial Business, emphasized the paramount importance of data privacy, security, and compliance, making responsible innovation a top priority.
